We moved to Coombs in 1977 after living on the mainland most of our lives. Neither Nick nor I had ever experienced going to school via school bus. So it was a new experience for everyone when it came time to send our son Jake off to school. For 5 years, he was picked up near our home and dropped off at French Creek School – from Grade 1 to 5. Twice a day the big yellow bus went past our home. Although we have moved to Parksville, we are confident that the big yellow bus still travels its route twice a day as regular as clockwork.
