Imagine . . .”The Polar Express” narrated by the Grade 5s (one of whom was my son Jon) with songs chosen by the classes and my school choir to complement the story of our Christmas Concert in 1997. I had taught a “Communities” unit to my Grade 2-3 class that Fall and we made and decorated a gingerbread “Coombs” with a train on tracks in the foreground just as it is here in our town. We won the gingerbread contest at the Qualicum College Inn and then displayed our model at the concert. It was a magical memory for me. I still hear the silver bell because I believe!
